Recently, scientists discovered that Dinosaurs probably had feathers. As a T-Rex is hard to imagine with a fluffy plumage, a group of students from the animation institute created a 49-seconds humorous short film and a smartphone game that break with the cruel idea of prehistoric predators.
While in the jump’n’run game you navigate a dinosaur through the jungle to collect feathers, the film surprises the audience with a dangerous looking, hunting predator suddenly growing feathers with a POOF! It shows the contrast between the brutal representation of dinosaurs in the media and the unsophisticated and playful imagination of Fluffy Dinos.

My task was to create a global logo for the two formats. Here, you can see the logo animation for the game with the stone-like DINOS embodying deep-rooted, brutal stereotypes. It gets contrasted by the childish naive, light FLUFFY written on a paper cloud. The logo is framed by a bunch of feathers referring to the film, where T-Rex’ head grows them in a foggy POOF.
The aesthetic of the logo matches the paper cut style of the mobile game. The jungle background and lianas were created by Erica Esserman. Due to time constraints, the CGI artists did not manage to integrate the logo into the film yet.
