Engl. THE INNOCENCE OF DEATH
Twelve-year-old Haljan will follow in his mother's footsteps and become Death, although he would like to escape this destiny. He learns to understand and accept his destiny through Zoë, a girl of the same age who is full of zest for life. Although it means that he must accompany his only friend to her death.
The fact that death is a part of life and that one cannot exist without the other is also reflected in the motion design. In an eternal cycle, flowers grow, wither and form the breeding ground for new flowers. The flower theme is inspired by 17th century vanitas still lifes with the visual style being derived from the family home's wallpaper.
The motion design is intended as a comforting and sensitive reminder that life is finite and death is part of it.
